The Technologically Postponed Life of Erika (and Brent)

I don't know why, but recently I've felt a severe aversion to communication technology--I hardly answer my cell phone, I hardly even think about the fact that we have a blog, I don't check facebook. I don't really know what it is. It's not my typical "Oh, technology is taking all the meat out of face to face interaction"--I'm not quite sure what it is. Do you ever feel like that? Maybe it's a desire to avoid responsibility; maybe it's a desire to be courteous to those who I'm visiting with (we have spent a good deal of time at our respective families' houses lately in order to spend time with our brothers before their missions); maybe it's just because using the computer to work and using it as my primary form of communication just got to be too much for me. In any case, I estimate that my aversion to technology will be over once I get back from Washington next Wednesday. Just thought you ought to know. PS- I'm going through pic...

The Neglected Blog of Brent and Erika

Sorry we've been gone so long. Things have been crazy. You dedicated readers (are there any?) really deserve something lovely, but I don't know that this post will be that. Here are some highlights over the past few weeks: - We made an offer on that house. It was very low. Their counter offer was very high. It's still for sale... - Brent went fishing with his students. One of them got a fish hook in the lip. He was fine. - I've been called as the ward choir director. - I played a piano solo in church. One life goal (or life nag, whichever you prefer) crossed off the list. Now I've only got to learn to play the organ. - We planned a trip to the Grand Canyon, which fell through. - We went to a Death Cab for Cutie concert. We had to wait three and a half hours in line IN THE RAIN, but it was great. - I made homemade hamburgers for the first time. I thought my mom usually put BBQ sauce and soy sauce in them.
